Some Days, song lyrics by Sarnia de la Mare for Tale Teller Club

Some Days, song lyrics by Sarnia de la Mare for Tale Teller Club

Some days
There is no mist
I see the moon
With it's promises
It's seductive palms
Caress my mind
And I dream
Of freedom
Some days
The mist descends
Dense and milky
It catches my throat
And the mist says
‘You are blind
And you are deaf
You are invisible
a Deadweight
In my milky power'
Such days as these
I take
To rest

Chorus
We were fighting on the streets
And we were yet unseen
There were guns and bombs and knives
Like we had never seen
We stood our ground
And we held proud
Cos this was not a dream
We took the nights
And held the days
We took them from the ground
Battle-scarred with tender souls
We brought the mountain down

Some days
The shadow comes
It casts its wings
Beneath the sun
The shadow says
you are mine
And you
Are never free
Such days as these
It takes to feast
I see you weep
And I say
Now we fight
For life that's ours

Let's Go Swimming Poem and Live Reading by Sarnia de la Maré FRSA

 Let's go Swimming

underwater swimmers figurative art illustration body blue orange water

Let’s go swimming
Where the ocean never ends
Where the lost and lonely people
Catch up with their friends

Where water babies go
The seas
to ever roam
In search of mothers' love
Thrown in from up above

Let’s go swimming
Where no one ever grows
Where time stands still
For those
who chose
To walk the sandy beds
With the bubbles
of the dead
To guide them
without dread

Let’s go swimming
Under the seven seas
Naked in
our dreams

Where warrior women
freed
Search for babes
in weeds

Let’s go swimming
With angels wearing wings
Whose death songs sing
In echos from the shells
With lovers
saved from Hell

Let’s go swimming
And stop this endless time
Capture love sublime
To save it from the tide

We Were Never Really Friends (Lyrics with a Biro), Fake Friends the poem by Sarnia de la Maré FRSA

The latest Tale Teller Club single is off to the distributer.

Here are the lyrics and the the poem that inspired them by Sarnia de la Maré FRSA

We Were Never Really Friends

Sometimes there’s an emptiness

An echo unreturned

A memory now forgotten

Knowing now unlearned

I am stealing shadows

Ones to call my own

Leaping from the chasms

Where Light is never thrown

We were walking to the beat

With nothing on our feet

But the tears that you shed

Were wasted on the dead

‘Cause you know you killed me then

When you lied that we were friends

chorus

On a train to love’s misfortune

Wrapped in hopes belonging

Binding words compelling

On a derailed train

To a bitter end

We were never really friends

I am stealing shadows

Ones to call my own

But you are just a hollow

Where nothing ever grows

©2024 Sarnia de la Maré FRSA

The original poem which inspired the song

Fake Friends

It took many years

and a million mistakes

to see

that we

were never friends

I was wrapped

so tightly in

Belonging

The songs were

binding

and the troupes

compelling

But we were

Never really friends

We were passengers

on one another’s

trains

Derailed and destined

for some

grizzly end

We were never ever

Friends
